Fees & Insurance

I am currently “in-network” with the following insurance plans:

  • Blue Shield of Northeastern New York (including the Federal Employee Program).
  • Medicare.
  • Capital District Physicians Health Plan (CDPHP) Medicaid and Child Health Plus.

I also work with the World Trade Center Health Program, which serves first responders and other persons directly affected by the events of 9/11/2001.

Out-of-network billing arrangements have included Global Care, Inc., Tufts Health Plan, Empire/Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Cigna, Aetna, Oxford, NYSHIP / Empire Plan (via Beacon Health Options), CDPHP (commercial plans) and others. These insurers have typically provided partial reimbursement for sessions after a deductible amount is met.

If I am out of your insurance network, I will usually submit out-of-network claims myself directly to your insurance company. If the claims are accepted, I may be partially reimbursed by your insurance company for your visits or your fees will be applied to your deductible. If I am partially reimbursed, you will be responsible for the remainder of my full fee. You should contact your insurance provider prior to beginning services to determine whether out-of-network reimbursement is possible. All payments and co-pays are collected immediately upon delivery of service unless otherwise arranged.

If you have insurance but do not want to utilize it for psychotherapy, you are free to pay out of pocket.

The list above may not be perfectly up-to-date. Please contact me for updates and additional information on fees, insurance plans accepted, and other payment options.
